Thanks for visiting my website. I assume that since you have landed on this
page, you would like to learn a little bit about me. So here goes.My name is Huzefa Zahid Lotia, I was born in January 1984 in Karachi. It must have been an eventful day at the Lotia residence, after all Gulamabbas Lotia had grandsons on only two previous occasions and Zahid Lotia had never had a son before! That day at the hospital I must have been excited as well. After all, I had never been out in the world before that. I can't claim to remember much about the day, so lets just assume I was excited. Here is a picture of the hospital. ![]() This picture is dated much much earlier from the day that I was born, but I would assume that it didn't look much different. So anyway, amidst a great deal of excitement I arrived home that day, to join my mother, father and sister. I soon started to go to school, and so began my lifelong quest for learning. My first school was Mrs. Haques Montessori. On completion from that I joined the Clifton branch of the Beaconhouse Public School System. Later on as the school grew and middle and senior sections were shifted to Defence, I went along. I graduated in the year 2000, with some really good O-Level scores. From there, I went on to finish my A-Levels from the Lyceum School in Karachi. Along the way, I met lots of people, made lots of friends and memories and most importantly, learnt a lot. ![]() This picture here is from my O-Levels farewell. I will share my O-Level and A-Level titles with you; I'll leave it to you to decide how well they fit. They are "Star Gazer" and "Profoundness Personified". On completion for my A-Levels, I moved to Toronto, Canada for my Bachelors Degree. I studied Commerce and Computer Science there. It was an amazing experience. No less drama involved in this phase either. The one thing that I earned out of my time and energy spent in this period would be the ability to learn things. Sure there was a lot of content that I studied, which has now become a part of my general knowledge and common sense; but I feel that learning how to learn my greatest achievement. I lived in residence for my 4 years at university which was also great, met some of my best friends there. I was a student at Victoria College in the University of Toronto. One of the few to take on both Commerce and Computer Science majors. I studied Marketing and HCI mainly. I also took two years of Mandarin Chinese at UofT (but my chinese still requires a lot of work!). ![]() Toronto was great. I particularly loved the diversity of the city. How people from so many different cultures live in relative harmony in this bustling metropolis is simple awe inspiring. Sure Toronto has its problems, but I would recommend it to anyone anytime. Its got the best of many worlds. |
