CUTC

Ahh, these last two days have been pretty hectic. The CUTC is going on from the 19-21st of January 2005. Lots of freebies there! Haha, but there's a lot more it has to offer. First day was great, we started out with a keynote address by David Yach, Senior VP of RIM talking about wireless, learn a lot about push and pull methods. Did you know that battery life in modern phones has been increased dramatically by switching on an off the phone's transmitter several times a minute? Well moving on, there was a very enlightening talk by David Ossip, Founder and CEO of Workbrain. He talked a lot about his startup, really enlightening, but all I can remember off the top of my head is that be careful with VC's and book recommendations, Crossing the Chasm, and the other book, I cant remember but it was by the same author I believe. Then Eugene Roman, Group President of Bell Systems and Technology gave us a spirited talk about how we were the future and that highspeed internet will be widespread soon. The was a somewhat boring talk about interesting technology by Alan Ganek of IBM Autonomic computing section. After that we had an good dinner, and saw a funny Techshow, featuring Micheal Furdyk, the young internet millionaire, seemed kinda shy; Ray Simonson of Bluegill Tech, entertaining, (dropped out of Waterloo cause he got his wife pregnant at the wrong time) and Mark Relph of Microsoft showing off his gadgets, nothing super impressive there I think. Anyway will write more about days 2 and 3 later.

Its so Darn Cold!

Its really darn cold outside today. I think its -20C + outside. I was freezing going to and from class. Lunch was so-so, grilled cheese. Hmm I used to like it so much. Anyway today is a busy day, haircut at 1:30, Bain Consulting Seminar at 5:00, and lots of work later. Won lots of tokens at mahjong yesterday! Haha. The only waiguoren at the table. I really must get my case of pakola out of my sight or it will be all gone in no time. Anyway. Time to quite blogging now. :) Hope to keep this up!

Birthday

First of all, Happy Birthday to me. Wo jinnian ershi'yi sui. Today, two people wished me over msn overnight, my parents and sisters called and my aunt emailed. But thats about it till now. I used to get more wishes before. Haha its partly me though, I enjoy keeping my birthday a secret sometimes, to check whether people can remember or not. Mostly they don't. Well some of my friends are taking me to dinner tonight. Its awfully nice of them. I don't feel like going to class today, its still a mystery to me whether or not I am going. Have a lot of school work to do these days, better get to it now.

MGT 363 group name

We need to come up with a group name for MGT363.
I like:
Little Monkeys, Smartest Monkeys, or Jack-in-the-Box Group.
If anyone is reading this, do they have any suggestions?
